Sergeant Major Michael Reifenberg joined the West Point Band in 2005. Originally hired as a jazz saxophonist and woodwind doubler, he now performs with the Concert Band and Marching Band. An avid composer and arranger, Sgt. Maj. Reifenberg has written over 300 works. His connection to the United States Military Academy runs deep, having an uncle who graduated from the Academy in 1970 and a brother-in-law who is a 2008 graduate. Outside of the band, he is passionate about chess, data science, and coaching youth basketball.
