Staff Sergeant Kevin Flanagan joined the West Point Band in 2023. Originally from Dahlonega, Georgia, he received a Bachelor of Arts in Music from the University of North Georgia and a Master of Instrumental Performance from the University of Miami Frost School of Music, where he served as a graduate teaching assistant and a Henry Mancini Institute fellow. His primary teachers include Adam Frey and Aaron Tindall. As an orchestral tubist, Staff Sgt. Flanagan has performed with the New World Symphony and the Naples Philharmonic. As a soloist, he was named a silver medalist at the 2022 Leonard Falcone International Euphonium and Tuba Festival and has been a prize winner at numerous tuba-euphonium competitions. In his free time, Staff Sgt. Flanagan enjoys the plethora of hiking opportunities available in the Hudson Valley, fishing, cooking, and spending time with friends and family.
