Sgt. 1st Class David Loy Song

Sergeant First Class David Loy Song joined the West Point band in 2003. He attended the University of Massachusetts Amherst and earned a Bachelor of Music in African American music and jazz in 1999. He has toured nationally and internationally with the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra (1997, 2001) and Glenn Miller Orchestra (2002 to 2003). He joined the West Point Band in the fall of 2003 as a member of the Jazz Knights, before making the switch to the Concert Band in 2015, where he plays baritone saxophone. Sgt. 1st Class Loy Song’s teachers include Ted Levine, Chris Merz, Adam Kolker, and Yusef Lateef.
