Staff Sergeant Christopher Leslie joined the West Point Band in 2016. He is the principal euphonium of the Concert Band. In addition to his duties with the band, he is an adjunct professor of euphonium at Montclair State University. As a soloist, he has performed with the U.S. Army Band “Pershing’s Own,” the Indiana University Wind Ensemble, and the University of Georgia British Brass Band, among others. Some of Staff Sgt. Leslie’s accolades include first-place honors at the Leonard Falcone International Euphonium Competition and the International Tuba Euphonium Conference Solo Competition. In 2017, he released his debut solo album “To The Point,” which featured several original works and transcriptions for euphonium that had previously never been recorded. “To The Point” won the Roger Bobo Award for Excellence in Recording and two silver medals from the Global Music Awards. Staff Sgt. Leslie resides in Greenwich, Connecticut, with his wife Merry and their two children. He spends his spare time cooking, running, and rooting for the Georgia Bulldogs and the Cincinnati Bengals.
