Staff Sergeant Chris Hunter joined the West Point Band in 2019. Originally from Orlando, Florida, he began playing horn as a student of William Robinson, founder of the International Horn Society. Staff Sgt. Hunter earned a Bachelor of Music from the University of Florida, studying with Paul Basler, and a Master of Music from the University of Iowa, studying with Jeffrey Agrell. Before joining the band, he held positions with the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra and the Brevard Symphony Orchestra. As a Cast Member at Walt Disney World, he appeared in a variety of orchestral productions including, “Epcot’s Candlelight Processional” and “The Music of Pixar Live!” Some highlights of his time in the band include performances at Carnegie Hall, the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade, and the United Nations Headquarters in New York City.
