Sergeant Major Brian Broelmann joined the West Point Band on saxophone in 2001, switching to guitar as his primary instrument in 2012. After serving in leadership roles including Section Leader, Chamber Group NCOIC, Chamber Group Leader, Concert Band Group Leader, Outreach Element Leader, and Ceremonial Concert Band Element Leader, Sgt. Maj. Broelmann accepted a staff position as Support Staff Element Leader and Human Resources. While continuing to serve in the band’s administrative section, Sgt. Maj. Broelmann performs on guitar, vocals, and keyboards with the unit’s Old Bentz Band.
