Staff Sergeant Bill Owens joined the West Point Band in 2011. After earning a Bachelor of Music from the Juilliard School in 2005, he moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career as a freelance chamber and orchestral musician. He performed with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the San Diego Symphony, the Santa Barbara Symphony, and numerous other orchestras in Southern California. For six years, Staff Sgt. Owens was a member of the national touring ensemble Presidio Brass. He is a founding member of Collective Brass, a brass chamber music ensemble that performs throughout the Hudson Valley and tristate area. He lives in the Hudson Valley with his wife Katrina and their two boys, who are passionate about Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker.
